8K60 RAW Recording
The EOS R5 C camera has impressive recording capabilities, including 8K60 RAW with Cinema RAW Light, for post-production and online use. It offers internal recording options in Super 35mm and Super 16mm modes on CFexpress cards. Users can choose from three Cinema RAW Light modes (HQ, ST, LT) and record lighter proxy video files while shooting in 8K. It also supports RAW output via HDMI and ProRes RAW recording with compatible external recorders like Atomos devices, up to 8K30. In-camera proxy data recording to an SD card helps with efficient post-production.
The EOS R5 C camera supports various video formats, including Cinema RAW Light, XF-AVC, and MP4. It allows simultaneous recording of two video files, like Cinema RAW Light and MP4, in different resolutions (4K and HD). It also provides lightweight proxy files for professional workflows. XF-AVC files are in a 10-bit 4:2:2 format within a .MXF wrapper, compatible with NLEs and existing workflows.
The EOS R5 C camera captures 4K High Frame Rate (HFR) movies without cropping the sensor, up to 120p. Its fast autofocus works during HFR recording, making it ideal for action scenes on a gimbal or drone. High focus accuracy at both high and standard frame rates.
The EOS R5 C camera has Canon Log 3, a gamma found in many Canon EOS and Cinema EOS cameras. Canon Log 3 expands expressive possibilities with wide dynamic range, more grading options. Designed for easy grading, it adjusts dark areas and tones. Canon Log 3 is user-friendly with less noise. It's compatible with Cinema EOS system cameras like EOS C300 Mark III and EOS C70.
